The measures in this study are based on the frequency of participants’ connections on Facebook and Snapchat. More specifically, participants should indicate on a scale from 1 = “several times a day” to 6 = “less often”. Also for Snapchat, they also reported snapshots they had sent during an average week, ranging from 1 = “5 or less” to 7 = “over 100” and they also indicated the number of friends they had on their respective platforms. In addition, the motivations for using the two sites were measured on a 5-point scale.
