Procreation versus Reproduction
Procreation is creation of an offspring through marital union (Meilaender, 2013). Marital union is the connection between a man and a woman in marriage as God directed us to do. God instructed the first man and woman to come together and fill the earth (Genesis 3). A child born out of a marriage union is a gift from God to the couple. This marital connection between man and woman is important for the new offspring as he/she can receive love and support from both parents (Meilaender, 2013).

Procreation is a result of love and not because of sexual intercourse to satisfy needs (Meilaender, 2013). Procreation is not solely determined by our desire to have children rather a blessing from the union since if no off springs are created, the unions can still survive (Meilaender, 2013). Reproduction is creation of off springs outside the confines of marital union (Shelly & Miller, 2006). This can be a form of agreement where if no off springs arise the agreement can be broken. Reproduction is basically a project to meet the needs and desires of individuals. The off springs of this process may not benefit from the benefits and support of a marital union (Shelly & Miller, 2006).

Being Begotten Versus Being Made
Being begotten means being born. This is the natural process of reproducing a baby where a man and a woman conceive an off spring naturally (Shelly & Miller, 2006). Begetting involves having a baby with the same features as the father or the mother. This is the most common method of producing off springs (Shelly & Miller, 2006). Being made involves a complex process of making a baby. There have been advancements in technology, which are able to produce babies. This can be done through reproductive technologies that an embryo can be transferred to a machine with the required conditions to allow a baby to grow (Shelly & Miller, 2006).
With this technology, couples unable to conceive children through the normal way of procreation can be able to have children of their own. Children are important for any couple and without this technology, couples unable to have children would remain childless (Shelly & Miller, 2006). Meilaender’s description is true as these processes are not the same even though they involve the same result. Other researchers have also described the same processes as different (Shelly ; Miller, 2006).
