There are many ways to access information about safeguarding and protecting individuals from abuse. There are both national and local polices in place. Every residents care plan will have specific risk assessments and procedures to ensure correct care is given.
? National polices –Some of these polices are: Safeguarding vulnerable groups act 2006 the Vetting and Barring Scheme run by the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA), Criminal Records Bureau, Human Rights Act 1998.
? The Police – their role is to help safeguard vulnerable adults and to investigate any and all reports of vulnerable adult abuse and protect vulnerable adults.
? CQC – Monitor and provide guidance on what all health and social care providers must do to keep the safety of vulnerable adults from abuse. The safeguarding policies and procedures systems are in place for preventing vulnerable adults from being abused.
